Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, providing valuable insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Implement and maintain financial protocols in line with ISO 9001:2015 parameters.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, developing forecasts to support business planning.
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Implement effective cashflow and demand forecasting schedules and reporting structures.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with HR to address payroll-related issues and stay updated on changes in payroll regulations.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Streamline processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and automate where possible.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity, developing strategies to optimise working capital and minimise borrowing costs.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop financial goals and strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support growth initiatives and investment decisions.
- Review business case opportunities and make recommendations to optimise returns.
- Assess and guide risks associated with investment decisions.
- Identify and assess financial risks, developing strategies to protect the company's financial interests.
- Coordinate external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred, or relevant in-role experience.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Highly commercial with excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and IT literate across all Microsoft 365 suite including TEAMS.
- Ability to work remotely, thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities effectively, and think-out-the-box with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to manage a small team if required.
- Competitive salary of £65,000-£70,000 and benefits package.
