Your new company is a growing biotech business based in the Centre of Reading.

Your new role reporting to the Finance Director this role will be hands on, broad in scope with plenty of variety.
Responsibilities will include :

  • Process and pay supplier invoices and staff expenses
  • Manage client invoicing, including tracking work-in-progress, generating invoices and chasing payment
  • Ensure that the company's filing and payment deadlines are adhered to, including liaising with HMRC.
  • Process monthly payroll (supported by external bureau)
  • Monthly reconciliation of ledger accounts
  • Maintain revenue and expense trackers to ensure accurate monthly recognition
  • Prepare and process monthly accruals, prepayments, and similar accounting entries
  • Prepare monthly financial and cash forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Produce monthly reporting pack for Management Team and Board
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs aligned with the business objectives
  • Guide the internal cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Manage the preparation of Year-End Accounts & Taxation
  • Opportunity to work on exciting R&D projects as Finance Support
  • Provide financial modelling support to management and other departments
  • Support internal controls management
  • Support the Finance Director, including business planning, fundraising and investor management



What you'll need to succeed is a hands on approach and happy to roll your sleeves up and get involved in all aspects of finance as would be expected in an SME finance function. You are likely to have similar experience managing the finances of an SME from end to end.
