Finance Director

Our client is an established construction supply & distribution business who are seeking a driven and hands on Finance Director to lead them through continuous business improvement and further company expansion. Reporting to the Managing Director you will need to be a commercially astute leader with first class business acumen and the ability to demonstrate excellent strategic awareness.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring a small finance team
• Take a proactive role in formulating and executing the strategic plan as a member of the Executive Team
• Work closely with the MD and Executive Team to identify and evaluate potential business opportunities
• Drive the finance agenda to ensure budgets and targets are met
• Establish a high level of credibility and develop positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
• Manage all operational financial processes ensuring that all reporting is done appropriately and in a timely manner
• Analysis of financial performance; development and controlling of measures to support growth and profitability
• Drive all internal processes for forecasting, budgeting and mid-term planning
• Management and negotiation of commercial legal and contractual matters
• Management of IT; overall responsibility to ensure data is secure and IT equipment, licensing agreements and service contracts are appropriately managed

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant, with significant experience at executive level / senior management / board level within a commercially driven environment. You will be a strategic and clear thinking Finance Director / CFO able to communicate well at all levels, be a calm influencer with the ability to see the bigger picture, and have demonstrable skills in business improvement initiatives and project management. M&A experience and management experience in an international corporation would also be desirable. Some international travel will also be required.
