Totum Partners are delighted to be working with an ambitious, expanding commercial UK law firm in its search for a Finance Director. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with an inspiring, driven Managing Partner and Management Board which is looking to continue its successful program of sustainable growth. The Finance Director position is an opportunity for a commercial-focused qualified accountant to help shape the direction of management reporting and financial planning, streamlining processes whilst working closely alongside the alongside the HR and IT Director as the firm continues fulfilling its plans to grow headcount and annual revenue.

This is a broad, hands-on role which will have responsibility for ensuring effective financial control; overseeing and contributing to the completion of month end reporting; and interpreting and providing insight into the financial performance of the firm to Partners and other fee earners, providing guidance where future improvements could be made. The Finance Director will work alongside department heads, coaching and them in understanding and improving financial performance metrics, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and financial acumen within the firm. A large focus of the role will be around detailed annual budgeting, dynamic forecasting and longer-term scenario planning to support growth targets.

Applicants should be qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with prior experience within professional services. You must be able to quickly establish credibility and be confident to communicate effectively with Partners, fee earners and business service teams, providing collaborative support and constructive challenge as and when appropriate.
