Interim Finance Compliance & Controls Analyst 
12 month fixed term contract
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
Location: Sheffield 

We are currently working with a well known business based in Sheffield who are looking to appoint a competent Financial Controls Analyst. This role would suit someone who is eager to develop in their career and get stuck in to a varied, fast paced and challenging role. 

The Financial Controls Analyst is primarily responsible for maintaining the integrity of the business's controls environment. This involves identifying weaknesses and proactively working with the business to develop process improvements. They also play a key role in embedding SOX compliance across the organisation and supporting regulatory reporting on control and risk areas.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Managing the framework of internal controls for the business, including reporting to the Group and recommending improvements.
  • Leading the annual SOX compliance program, including testing, issue remediation, and reporting.
  • Conducting process reviews and implementing improvement recommendations.
  • Investigating and reporting on control failures, developing enhancements to mitigate future instances.
  • Monitoring specified business controls, including those performed by outsourcing partners.
  • Identifying and communicating internal control deficiencies or non-compliance with Group policies to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with local teams to optimise financial controls in various business areas and develop action plans to address deficiencies.
  • Managing the operational business relationship for PTP process with outsource partners.
  • Providing support to the wider team on financial control matters and offering cross-skills to cover and support other areas as needed.

Key Requirements: 

  • Must have experience testing and working to SOX compliance and controls - UK SOX is highly desirable
  • Ideally part qualified / qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) or QBE
  • Must be a confident communicator as the role involves liaison with stakeholders across the business 
  • Ideally someone who has a passion for process improvement and work to strict deadlines
