Role: Finance & Commercial Support Officer

Organisation: NHS

Contract: 3 Months with extensions - Immediate start required

Salary: Agenda for change band 6 up to £42,618 pro rata

Location: Fully remote

Summary of responsibilities:

The postholder will, under direction of the Finance and Commercial Lead, have delegated responsibility over and support the following activities:

  • Ensure that all documentation relevant to the business is completed and kept up to date in line with organisational requirements.
  • Raising requisitions/POs, reviewing invoices, receipting payments.
  • Liaising with programme leads, finance colleagues and suppliers.
  • Support contract management and development of SOWs, including use of the Atamis system, raising business cases, and managing through the governance process.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and tracking spend of activities with BPs; ensuring that appropriate justification exists, and that authorisation has been granted.
  • Monthly meetings with commercial and finance
  • Commercial pipeline planning
  • Clear presentations/summaries for the Director and service owners on a regular basis to inform decision-making.
  • Drive adherence to financial process requirements, check/challenge charges and other financial information

Expertise/skills required (incl. software):

  • Strong administrative skills, high level of accuracy for data inputting, attention to detail
  • Strong excel skills and ability to manipulate financial information (e.g. using pivots and formula)
  • Document management
  • Financial transaction management and processing (invoicing, POs, receipting etc)
  • Experience using F&C systems including Atamis & Oracle (others TBC)
  • Experience of NHSE governance and approval mechanisms/processes.
  • Ability to summarise and present complex information clearly, concisely, and accurately for a range of stakeholders.
  • Secretariat skills, diary management, meeting management
