Based in London, our well-regarded client is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their established team on a permanent basis. This is a remote working role, with 1 day per month required in the office.

This job would suit an ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant to be responsible for maximising commercial opportunities across the business with previous experience in Finance Business partnering with a business that operates with contractors and understands payroll and related areas.

This global client will provide you with excellent exposure within an international business with fantastic opportunities to progress over time.

The successful candidate will have experience in providing insightful analysis and must have advanced level Excel skills. You will also have a hands-on attitude with a pro-active approach and will be able to manage expectations of a number of different people internally. Previous experience of working in a finance business partner role, within a busy finance department is essential. Advanced Excel and excellent communication skills.

Job responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of other departments' metrics such as operational performance, DSO & debt difficulties and then influencing the business, client or head office teams where appropriate to make improvements
  • Business partners work as financial controllers for their areas of responsibility alongside the operational managers
  • Taking personal responsibility for certain divisions or regions. Ensure understanding of all staffing divisions to be able to provide cover as required within the team
  • Business Partners work with OMs to help them understand their region's financial performance, providing onsite financial training to contract and branch managers and sharing best practice
  • Support the Operations Managers and Directors during retender processes exploring lower cost solutions and demonstrate a creative approach to existing delivery
  • Provide comparison between contracts or branches so that best practice is replicated between OMs and between divisions of the company
  • Analysis of the non-financials such as efficiency & productivity
  • Review and analyse monthly, quarterly & annual results for multiple divisions
  • Take a holistic view of all aspects of financial performance including provisions in the balance sheet, DSO and debt issues highlighting risks to Operations Directors and senior finance
  • Produce and / or analyse the regular reports for the divisions such as the in-office temps report, margin control report, billable hours, league tables and top 20 clients reports.
  • Where the above reports are produced in part by the Delivery Centre, check, analyse and circulate with suitable commentary
  • Understand variances together with explanations and solutions to those variances where applicable
  • Write a financial summary for the Board Pack to include explanations of financial results and variances to forecast and budget
  • Develop management information, catering for the ongoing requirements as the business evolves supplying detailed summaries & recommendations on how to move the business forward and to maximise profit
  • Develop reporting in Cognos Analyst and QlikView, automating reports where possible
  • Produce a weekly GP projection report to set expectations of the monthly results
  • Produce budgets & forecasts for multiple divisions including critical review with operational staff and sensitivity analysis
  • Challenge forecasts and budgets with operational staff to explore potential growth areas and risks to maximising profit
  • Work with the Operations Directors to provide suitable analysis, KPIs and commentaries to meet Board expectations.
  • Present Operations' rationale behind forecast and budget numbers and demonstrate where you have challenged as necessary
  • Present and review budgets and forecasts with Directors
