Robert Half are pleased to be partnering with an AIM listed business looking for a Finance Business Partner. Due to rapid organic growth of the business, the role will involve partnering with both the finance team and the operational service delivery teams across the UK/ internationally to deliver and lead commercial insights and provide guidance to enhance the business's strategic and financial objectives. The role will report into the Finance Director and will be responsible for all FP&A activities for the global services organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with the project managers to produce accurate project financials for global services and delivery projects, including accurate revenue recognition and margin reporting.
  • Drive commercial and financial insight (financial and non-financial KPI's) on projects, including reporting of unitisation metrics. Work closely with Services management team (based in the US and UK) to identify issues early, and find solutions.
  • Responsible for monthly forecasting and budgeting of services revenue and cost, working closely with the group finance team, and providing variance analysis on actuals to budget.
  • Work with project managers to ensure data accuracy in the project management systems including;
    • timesheets are captured on a timely basis and are accurate
    • contract milestones and contract rates are properly reflected
    • ensure contractor rates and agreements are properly reflected in systems, and third party costs are appropriately invoiced on to customers.
  • Provide commercial insight on new customer projects, validating assumptions in budget margins, and working with the project managers to assess risk.
  • Work closely with regional finance teams to ensure invoicing is accurate and on time, and assist with any collection issues.
  • Own costing models for our workforce
  • Working with services as we build out managed services offering, including providing financial insight on hosting and support offerings. Undertake financial modelling, scenario planning and business case preparation to support effective decision making, leading to improved business and financial performance.
  • Provide regular training to the project managers, and lead on process and control improvements

Requirements

  • Experience working in a business partner role for a delivery organisation in a technology/ software company highly desirable
  • Accounting qualification required (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), 2 years + PQE
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, must be able to become a trusted finance partner to the services organisation
  • Self-motivated with the desire to develop and progress in a fast-paced, growing professional environment.
