Finance Assistant

NG22, Newark

8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday

£24,000 - £26,000 per annum

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Finance Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of the finance function within the company. Your responsibilities will include effective credit control processes, accurate transactional processing of sales and purchase orders, and providing essential support to various teams across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Manager in providing finance information to assist the business.
  • Manage day-to-day credit control and collection of customer debt.
  • Create and maintain customer and supplier accounts on Sage.
  • Process sales orders, raise invoices, and applications for payments.
  • Upload invoices onto customer portals as required.
  • Generate purchase orders and input supplier invoices into Sage.
  • Process bank and cash payments and receipts.
  • Maintain the Sage system with updates and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage credit card expenses using Excel and Sage.
  • Keep product costs up to date on Sage.
  • Maintain sales orders and update the CRM system.
  • Assist with general finance team duties, including telephone inquiries, filing, and external communication.

Skills Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within a finance team.
  • Proven experience in credit control responsibilities.
  • High level of competency with MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Desire to advance finance skills and experience.
  • AAT certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
