Finance Assistant

Location: Harrogate, Leeds

Salary: £23,400 - £26,000 per annum

They are looking to expand their Finance team with the addition of a Finance Assistant, to support the Group as it continues its expansion and growth. The role will report to the Finance Manager for the Search Division.

You will be business partnering with the Junior Management Accountant, to support in the day to day tasks of the finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual that is looking to develop and grow within a Group environment.

They will also support study towards the AAT or equivalent qualification and provide some exam leave as part of your studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Purchase ledger, ensuring payments are raised to suppliers timely and dealing with any supplier queries
  • Responsible for the Petty Cash and cash reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of credit cards, working with the business to identify and allocate payments accurately within the ledger.
  • Assisting with Sales invoicing and revenue reconciliations
  • Providing cover for the Senior Finance Assistant when they are on leave
  • Provide information and assist with audit queries on the statutory accounts
  • Other ad hoc duties

Skills and Qualifications

  • Started studying for the AAT qualification is preferred, but not essential
  • Good excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and ownership
  • Experience of Sage preferable, but not necessary, training will be provided
  • Be a team player, with the willingness to pitch in to work together to achieve both individual and team goals
