Finance Assistant - TEMP - To cover Maternity role

End date: 31st March 2025

Hours per week: 40

Max Number of days: 5

Pay Rate per hour: Up to £20 per hour

Job Description:

• This will require working with both our Local Transport & Strategic Rail finance teams as well as the business operational teams.
• Record and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Support our Market Operations teams and respond to any ad-hoc requests from them.
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
• Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
• Prepare monthly accounts reconciliations and resolve any outstanding items
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts & annual budgets
• Ensure that new projects opened in the business comply with both Internal & External governance controls

Required

• Previous experience within finance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong excel skills.
• Strong data skills. Able to interrogate large quantities of complex data quickly and efficiently and provide meaningful insights.
• Articulate with excellent communication skills.
