35 hours (full time) per week, Monday to Friday - hybrid (3 days a week in office)

Based in the North of Cambridge, this socially responsible client is looking for a highly motivated individual to join their Finance Team. As a Finance Assistant you will play a key role, providing Finance support across the Group.
You will contribute to the smooth running of the day-to-day activities of the finance department. You’ll take ownership of the purchase and sales ledgers and assist with month-end activities. You’ll also handle basic accounting tasks and assist the wider finance team when needed.

Key tasks and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the smooth running of the finance department.
- Provide key finance support to the group.
- Post supplier invoices.
- Maintain employee expense cards including, actioning top ups and posting the transactions monthly.
- Prepare supplier payment runs and one-off payments
- Complete card purchases on behalf of employees
- Prepare month end sales invoices
- Raise ad-hoc sales invoices and liaise with assistant accountant to ensure complete
- Assist with credit control ensuring actions are completed within agreed timeframe.
- Circulate debtors reports weekly.
- Post/import the bank transactions for multiple bank accounts weekly and prepare the month end bank reconciliations.
- Complete month end trade debtors’ and trade creditors’ reconciliations
- Ensure the inbox is kept up to date and actions are cleared on a timely basis
- Respond to queries from suppliers and customers
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Assistant Accountant and wider finance team as required
Skills and qualifications required:
Essential
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work alone and prioritise tasks as well as working within a team
- Highly numerate with good attention to detail
- Experience of using accounting software
- Competent in the use of Excel and other Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- To be able to solve problems and work under their own initiative when required.
