Finance Assistant
Our client, based in North Cambridge, is looking for a Finance Assistant to join their innovative and growing team. This is a full time (37.5hr week) role and hybrid working would be considered. As Finance Assistant, you'll be responsible for updating and maintaining our client’s income and expenditure ledgers, bookkeeping, raising invoices, and ensuring tax compliance. You'll ensure good financial control over projects and keep accurate data. You will also be required to maintain and produce reporting where required to track project progress.
Responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring, processing, and approving supplier invoices
- Reconciling Xero to supplier statements
- Raising customer invoices and matching against purchase orders
- Month end reconciliations
- Preparation of supplier list for payment runs
- Processing weekly CIS subcontractor invoices and sending remittances
- CIS verification of subcontractors
- Monthly bank and credit card reconciliation
- Credit Control on outstanding invoices
- Processing employee expenses and bills.
To be suitable for this role, candidates will need to have the following skills and experience:
- 2 years (minimum) finance experience
- Graduate degree with finance modules
- Experience using Xero (advantageous but not essential)
- AAT qualification (desirable)
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills; able to handle multiple deadlines effectively
- Problem-solving skills
- An ability to stay focused and make decisions under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Numeracy and IT skills
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software packages & MS Office.
