Partnerships and collaboration are very much part of our DNA with Ford Fleet Management being one of our successes. Ford Fleet Management (FFM) is a collaboration between Ford and ALD Automotive to create a new entrant in the leasing and fleet management market. In this instance the finance responsibilities for FFM are undertaken by certain members of the ALD Automotive finance team on an outsourced basis and therefore this role offers an interesting opportunity to perform financial reporting for FFM as it develops in size and complexity, whilst also remaining part of the wider ALD Automotive | LeasePlan finance function

Key Purpose

  • Delivery of robust financial reporting
  • Contributing to a data-led ethos in decision making within the business through development of financial management information and trend analysis
  • Oversight and control of overhead cost

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and analyse key variances against prior period and budget.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations as a key control to ensure accuracy of monthly reporting.
  • Take ownership of accounting for overhead costs, including posting monthly accrual and prepayment journals and reviewing/challenging costs rebilled from ALD to FFM
  • Develop and maintain clear management information for distribution and presentation to key stakeholders, including the FFM Board of Directors
  • Support with the annual budgeting process, including determining expected overhead costs for the next financial year.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and corporation tax computation.

Skills, Experience & Background

  • Professional accountancy qualification (minimum AAT qualified or alternatively Part Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified)
  • Proven experience in a Finance role
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel (comfortable with pivot tables, nested formulas, key functions including VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, IF, SUMIF, SUMPRODUCT etc.)
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently, asking for support or input from line manager and colleagues wherever required.
  • Experience in managing and communicating with stakeholders outside of the immediate Finance team .
  • Appetite to further develop technical accounting and industry knowledge.
  • Exposure to or desire to learn technical programming languages e.g. SAS, SQL, VBA, Crystal Reporting, Power BI
