I have the pleasure of supporting Sheffield City Council with a personal assistant supporting Care Leavers.   

 It is a temp on going role. 

Job role

 We are looking for applicants who can support and advise young people leaving care by helping them to find suitable accommodation, assistance in budgeting and spending decisions, education, employment, and training by undertaking a high-quality needs assessment and pathway plans alongside social workers and working with other multi agency partners. You will act as an advocate for young people and support them to make decisions for their future.   

You will have experience of working with young people leaving care or in a related field with experience of multi-agency planning with a basic understanding of the law relating to the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and the Children and Social Work Act 2017. You will understand adolescence in relation to developmental, familial, social, and environmental factors that impact on young people's wellbeing. You will need to be an excellent communicator, understanding and encouraging resilience in young people; be able to negotiate and resolve conflict and problems. You may be asked to travel and escort young people out of Sheffield and may have to work evenings and weekends as part of a rota, however additional payment will be made if you work out of hours. This job is extremely rewarding, and you will make a difference to a young person's life.

Full time working is 37 hours per week Monday to Friday core hours
