Electrical Field Service Engineer - Engine Control Systems

Are you a service engineer with experience of working on control and monitoring systems?

Have you had experience working on control systems around engines / generators with an output of >1MW?

Are you based in or around the Colchester area and willing to customer sites on a daily basis?

Do you hold a full Uk driving licence?

If the answers are yes, our client who are experts in marine, industrial and traction markets with a comprehensive range of speed governing solutions, engine management and monitoring products, and complex power management solutions are adding 2x FSEs to their expanding service team.

What you need....

You must have extensive experience with Diesel Engines above 1MW Output;

A strong Electrical background and in-depth control systems knowledge and understanding is highly desirable

Full Uk driving licence

Flexibility to travel at short notice including overseas (on rarer occasions)

Competitive starting salary £40-50k fully dependent upon experience

Overtime readily available (typically voluntary)

Early finish Friday (Working hours Mon - Thurs 8-5 // Fri 9-1)

The role...

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for performing troubleshooting, technical support, preventive maintenance, and providing customer service for control and monitoring systems on a range of power generation equipment.

The successful candidate must be able to work to tight timeframes in a safe and responsible manner, ready to travel with short notice ( in UK and Worldwide).

  • Field Service, Troubleshooting, and Technical Support skills
  • Experience in preventive maintenance of control and monitoring systems
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Experience in the engineering or technology industry is a plus
  • Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Degree in Electro-engineering desirable
