Requirement for a Design Manager to oversee the internal process of the design management, ensuring the project meets the design to ensure profitability and on-budget delivery of a one-of-a-kind product during a period of rapid growth and expansion for the business.

Situation

Ford & Stanley Recruitment are partnered with a nationwide construction contractor on their search for an additional Design Manager to join their team. Due to the bespoke and niche nature of their product, our client is winning new contracts and requires additional heads to ensure all projects are completed on-budget to facilitate further growth and expansion.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of façade design management and experience with working with internal & external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design process internally.
  • Attending site visits & meet with clients.
  • Control of a design from conception, monitoring the design, internal design meetings, client design meetings and finally to production.
  • Complete the designs on some occasions.
  • Mid construction checks, on site, ensuring that the project meets the design.

Location: Office in Derby + some regional travel required.

Salary: Up to £55,000

Working Practice:  5 days in the office (some days will require site travel, however, this is rare occasions)

Agreed Criteria for candidates to secure interview

  • Knowledge and experience of façade design management.
  • Work closely with clients and lead the design process with clients and site teams.
  • Produce design programmes and monitor these.
  • Have knowledge and experience of CAD design which may be utilised.
  • Knowledge in both 2D and 3D modelling would be advantageous.
  • Have good communication skills and professionalism.
  • Have a valid driving licence and be willing to travel to sites occasionally.
