The Opportunity

As a result of internal promotion, our Client is looking to appoint a Façade Systems Engineer to provide sales and technical advice along with detailed technical specifications, structural calculations, thermal calculations, and detailed drawings for their rain-screen cladding systems product range.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to: The Technical Manager

Your main duties and responsibilities include:

  • To market and promote the rain-screen cladding range to architects and cladding contractors
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with the key customer groups offering an effective "point of contact" position for all technical issues.
  • To gain "expert" status for the cladding range throughout the marketplace
  • Provide detailed technical specifications, structural calculations, thermal calculations, and detailed drawings for rain-screen cladding systems.
  • Submission of project tenders and detailed pricing
  • Maintain clients’ database and adequate records of all correspondence and specifications submitted in C4C.
  • Provide technical advice and training to the sales team and distributors.
  • Provide advice and support to the Assistant Specification Engineer.
  • Assist in the preparation of training seminars and CPD presentations.
  • Carry out on-site testing and customer training as required.
  • Introduce new products in line with the Company's New Products Launch Procedures
  • Manage the product range so that compliance with the Company Employee Handbook is always assured.
  • Make sure Company literature and website site kept up-to-date and any changes are communicated with other departments and customers.
  • Provide advice and support to the procurement department, regarding supply chain and stock management.
  • Provide advice to sales and customer services departments regarding product and system definitions.
  • Various other projects/duties that the Technical Manager may require.

The Candidate

To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team. You will also need a strong technical background and a proven track record in a similar technical role.

You will also be required to demonstrate the following:

  • The successful individual should be educated to a degree level ideally in structural engineering.
  • Strong AutoCAD knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge and experience in structural analysis of rain-screen systems, thermal analysis of external walls, and legislation/regulations such as Eurocode 0, 1, and 9.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to develop and secure new business with the vision, desire, and self-belief to drive the business further.
  • Holding a valid driving licence
  • Self-motivated, reliable, persistent, thorough, well organised with an excellent customer focus.
  • The ability to work on own initiative is essential.
  • Fully IT conversant with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Full training is available to the right individual; however, preference will be given to candidates with experience in cladding design and specification sales or product management within the cladding industry.

Additional Information

The role will require the Candidate to be based remotely will occasional visits to the company’s head offices in Oxfordshire. The role will also include occasional visits to customer sites and so requires a full valid UK driving license.

Salary Negotiable DOE + Performance-related bonus
