Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (Nursery/Reception Class)

Location: Bishop's Stortford, Primary School

Position Overview: Randstad education is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in Bishop's Stortford. The successful candidate will primarily work within their Nursery and Reception classes, providing essential support to our young learners as they embark on their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in implementing a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of all children.
  • Support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring activities are age-appropriate and engaging.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and intellectual development.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children who require additional assistance with their learning or development.
  • Collaborate effectively with the teaching team, sharing ideas and resources to enhance the learning experience for all children.
  • Help to create a safe and supportive atmosphere where children feel valued, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Assist with the planning, preparation, and organisation of learning materials and resources.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Hold a minimum of an EYFS Level 3 qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a similar role within an early years setting is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their learning and development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with a willingness to collaborate and contribute to the success of the team.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework and a commitment to promoting best practices in early years education.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the children and the school.

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday in term time
  • Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
