Techniche are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer to appoint a Exterior Design Engineer for their site in Cranfield.
  • Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire
  • Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-1.20pm
  • Type: Hybrid working typically 3 days/week on site 
  • Rate: £27 per hour + holiday pay - rate increases to £31.05 per hour (annual equivalent of £63,000 per annum)
  • Duration: 12 months rolling contract
For this role Automotive industry experience is essential. They will consider anyone who has had experience with either Interior or exterior trim, mouldings, plastic parts etc.
 
This role is working on the Design Engineering all exterior trim parts including: Plastic Injection Mouldings, Front and Rear End parts, Mouldings and mud guards, some electromechanical parts etc.

Description:
  • Responsible for the development of exterior trim parts primarily plastic injection moulding.
  • Working with styling, project management, purchasing, test and manufacturing departments to take exterior trim parts from design concept to manufacture.
  • Managing parts and suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Front end design, bumpers, grills, spoilers, back door finishers and side mouldings.
  • BOM management
Qualifications and skills:
  • Experience in car industry is very welcome.
  • Experience in front & rear end design, including bumpers, grills, spoilers, back door finishers and side mouldings would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Siemens NX CAD and Teamcenter or similar CAD software.
  • Proficiency in mechanical engineering.
  • Time management and prioritisation skills to confidently manage multiple projects within set deadlines.
