Daytime Healthcare are working with a Great National Children's Residential Organisation who are looking for Experienced Children's Practitioners to join their team!

Sleep-ins, 2 per week, paid at £50 each so the potential to earn more.

  • Starting Salary £25,738, rising incrementally to £29,128 per annum based on performance, plus sleep-ins (potential to earn up to £30,538 per annum)
  • Shifts: 08:00 - 16:00 & 15:00- 23:00 with an average of 2 sleep-in shifts per week until 7am, including weekends and bank holidays (bank holidays paid time and half)
  • 2 weekends off per month and an average of 40 hours per week.
  • Option to do overtime paid time and half

As an Experienced Children's Practitioner you will be responsible for:

Providing direct support and care for young people aged 12 to 17 years. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the young people living in the home by adhering to and updating their risk assessment as well as taking practical steps to ensure their safety. This includes identifying, recording and reporting any risk of harm or child protection concerns in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Desirable Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (i.e. Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People Workforce with the children's social care pathway).
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working and supporting Young People to achieve their full potential, ideally in a residential setting.
  • Ability to build and promote trusted relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Experience of achieving outcomes as part of working in a service and the records which evidence that.
  • A working knowledge of key legislation regarding Safeguarding practices relating to children and young people
  • Understanding of the issues experienced by young people such as bullying, gangs, radicalisation, self-harm, sexual exploitation and how these impact on behaviour.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm and energy to inspire and encourage young people to achieve great things.
