Experienced Librarian

An inclusive and supportive secondary school in Hackney are looking for an experienced Librarian who is passionate about learning and wants to encourage a love of reading within the student body. To succeed in this role, applicants should have experience working in a library and within a busy office environment. School experience would also be beneficial. Applicants should also have a strong knowledge of literature, administrative and I.T skills and a desire to take on additional responsibility within the workplace.

Veritas education are working with an excellent secondary school in Hackney, East London who are looking for an experienced librarian for an immediate start. As an experienced Librarian, you would be responsible for managing all aspects of the Learning Resource Centre (LRC). This includes budget/purchasing, supervise and train staff, facilitate relationships with local libraries and other resources and supervise students within your care.

The Role:

• Experienced Librarian
• Mainstream Secondary School
• 36 hours per week, Term Time role
• Hackney, East London

You will need:

• Strong English, Maths and I.T skills
• Experience working in a library
• Experience working in a busy office environment
• Able to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
• Experience of maintaining record keeping systems and working with IT packages
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
• A desire to work with young people and encourage their literacy
