Chief Invigilator

An opportunity has arisen for a Chief Invigilator to join a leading and prestigious organisation based in Lurgan.

This is a three month contract required on an ad hoc basis during school exams.

Working hours: Ad Hoc

With an hourly rate of £15.42 per hour.

Job Role:

You will be responsible for the organisation and supervision of invigilation of all external exams. Liaison will be required with the Examinations Office staff throughout to ensure the effective deliver.

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good numeracy sills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload while adhering to right deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience of invigilating exams.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring that external assessments are conducted in accordance with the (JCQ) Regulations.
  • Planning for, allocating and advising Invigilators of their duties and dates required.
  • Maintain a record of sessions worked by all invigilators throughout the external examinations period and verify all claims for fees and expenses for submission to the examining body.
  • Supervision of Assistant Invigilators.
  • Responsible for the collection of exam materials from secure storage and the management of external examination papers before and during the assessment sessions.
  • Responsible for the submission of candidates’ external examination material to examining bodies alongside the required paperwork. 
  • Complete comprehensive reports on any irregularities in conduct of an external examination and submit to the examination body where necessary. 
  • To attend training provided by CCEA as required.
