The Stourhead Events Team is proud to deliver events throughout the year from proposals to our winter lights trail. Many of the events are delivered in partnership with third parties and the role includes both weekend and evening work when delivering events.

This role is a fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave. However, there is a long crossover period where you will be given full training to feel confident and be successful in this role. Please note that this role involves working outdoors in all weathers.

The income generated from each event stays at Stourhead and helps us to look after this special place. 

This salary will be applicable from 1st April 2024. The start date for this role is the beginning of May. What it's like to work here

An 18th Century Palladian mansion with a world-famous landscape garden, its no surprise that Stourhead is one of our busiest and ‘best loved’ properties. What you'll be doing

Working alongside the Events Manager and dedicated team of volunteers you will be instrumental in delivery proposals, photoshoots, weddings and outdoor performances in the summer season and then Christmas at Stourhead, our Christmas lights trail, in the winter months. You will be involved in the event delivery process from bookings to admin and then delivery, working both indoors and out across the year.

The Events team is proud to work alongside all of the Stourhead property teams as well as with our sister property, Mompesson House in Cathedral Close, Salisbury. At Mompesson you will be assisting with developing a brand new event offer to begin in 2025.

Who we're looking for
  • Experience of working in a customer facing events focused environment ideally within the heritage or visitor attraction sector.  
  •  Good people, time management and organisational skills with an ability to think on your feet and keep calm when under pressure.  
  •  Able to work alone or in a team using your initiative when needed, some experience of working with volunteers is desirable.  
  •  A flexible approach with a willingness to work weekends and into the evenings in an outdoor environment. 
  • This role does involve some manual labour as part of event set up. 
  • A desire to make a difference, show initiative and contribute to the core values of the Trust
