Skills / Qualifications

• Certified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent accountancy qualification)
• Leadership and managing large teams (teams of 20+, ability to manage teams spread across various locations)
• Financial Control is particularly important, this role is not suitable for general finance directors, or CFO profiles)
• IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP and related experience
• Experience working in blue chip organisations (preferably global companies)
• Strong experience in accounting controls and financial processes (within a global company)
• Strong general accounting experience including Stateside & Local UK GAAP and IFRS
• Strong knowledge of Internal Controls and SOX regulations
• Strong experience with accounting & finance systems/software applications
• Solutions orientated and ability to drive results
• Strong project management skills
• Strong analytical and finance skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Uses analytical and leadership skills to achieve goals
• Effective leadership with relationship development skills
• Market and industry knowledge with strong presentation skills (payment providers)
• Challenge and improve processes

Overview

Ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting and controls and providing advisory support to the business teams across a number of areas, including: accounting & controls, deal structures and terms, and M&A

Position

Responsible for ensuring that strong controls are in place and are functioning as expected. Develop continual process improvement. Facilitate the advancement of finance to better meet the needs of our business teams

Responsibilities

• Ensure integrity and accuracy of financials. Ensuring company compliance with external and corporate accounting requirements
• Lead financial decisions related to business transactions, including: M&A and investments by providing accounting/regulatory advice and by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
• Provides guidance on highly complex and emerging issues and prepares technical accounting memorandums in response. Consults with Corporate Accounting as appropriate
• Ensures a strong control environment by establishing, monitoring and enforcing operational and SOX controls based on corporate guidelines and general governance standards. Both support and challenge managers to identify areas where controls can be strengthened
• Leads M&A due diligence and integration from an accounting & control perspective
• Drives continual process improvement agenda
• Ensures ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports and advising management on needed actions
• Manages multiple teams, providing support and guidance and ensuring cohesive teamwork throughout
