Kenneth Brian Associates are working on a new opportunity for a well-established construction company, who are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team.

This role will be responsible for estimating the costs associated with mechanical systems in construction projects. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Providing accurate and competitive estimates, ensuring that projects are profitable and completed within budget
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Reviewing project plans, specifications and related documentation
  • Performing take-offs and quantity surveys of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping and fire protection systems
  • Analysing and interpreting drawings, blueprints and other technical documents
  • Accurately estimating materials, labour and equipment costs
  • Liaising with project managers and engineers to determine project schedules and deliverables
  • Identify potential risks and challenges and proposing effective solutions to mitigate them
  • Evaluating bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Maintaining accurate information to support accurate estimating
  • Attending meetings, site visits and client presentations

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping and fire protection
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with estimating software and tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively and negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Ability to think critically to solve problems
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations and industry best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The company offer a salary of £63,000 - £68,000 plus benefits, with genuine opportunities for progression.
