a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join are a high-tech manufacturing company specialising in the welding and fabrication of stainless steel assemblies and gas and fluid handling systems. We are looking for an experienced estimator to join our team and to head our estimating and quoting activities.

Job Role: Estimator

Job Type: Perm/Full Time

Hours: Mon-Thur 0830-1700 Fri 0830-1600

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 ( salary depending on skills and experience)

Roles and Responsibilities:
Orbital Fabrications are a high-tech manufacturing company specialising in the welding and fabrication of stainless-steel assemblies and gas and fluid handling systems. We are looking for an experienced estimator to join our team and to support our estimating and quoting activities.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Director, and the role will include.

• Discussing clients’ requirements alongside the Sales team
• Interpreting clients’ drawings and specifications
• Working with our production team to determine a manufacturing process and production times.
• Creating a Bill of Materials
• Working with our supply chain to source parts and sub-contract activities
• To compile costings and detailed proposals
• To work with the Sales team to promote proposal to client.
• To handover project to purchasing and production on successful delivery of proposal
• To support production and purchasing throughout project as required
• To manage and develop estimating staff and department.

The successful candidate will be:

• Experienced as an estimator within the manufacturing industry.
• Accurate and numerate with great attention to detail.
• Technically and commercially aware, and able to understand and interpret drawings and other information.
• Competent in compiling detailed quotations.
• Able to manage their own workload, and that of their department, and achieve set deadlines.
• A good communicator
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Be pro-active.
• Be versatile
