Your new company
Joining Oxford City Council's Corporate Property Team is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a city steeped in history and innovation. You'll be at the forefront of managing and developing the city's diverse property portfolio, from retail units through to allotments, parks and gardens and more.

HAYS are delighted to be working in partnership with the council to present an exciting new permanent opportunity for an Estates Surveyor Team Leader.

Your new role
As an Estates Surveyor Team Leader, you will be an integral part of a team managing a diverse property portfolio which includes both operational and commercial properties with a range of occupiers including both corporate tenants and local traders. You'll lead a small team, whilst contributing to property management and professional activities including landlord & tenant negotiations.
You will also:

  • Undertake line management duties, including appraisals, performance, and personal development training.
  • Provide appropriate leadership support to a graduate surveyor to enable them to work towards achieving membership of RICS.
  • Carry out day-to-day commercial property management duties.
  • Become a strategic partner, playing a lead role in development of strategies to meet service and corporate priorities.

What you'll need to succeed
If you have a passion for property, an eye for detail and a drive and motivation to improve the environment, then this could be a fantastic next step for you - there is no requirement to have worked for a local authority previously or within the public sector before. You will need to hold a degree or equivalent qualification within a property related area, and ideally you will be a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. An ability to lead, develop and motivate a team to deliver excellent levels of customer service will be important.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a salary of up to £48,170 per annum. It's not all about the money! - Oxford City Council are proud to boast a market-leading benefits package and flexible working culture to meet with your personal circumstance and to allow you to live a healthy and balanced life - this includes 28 days of annual leave + bank holidays, the opportunity to accrue additional days off, a flexi-time working scheme and a hybrid working pattern which will allow you to undertake the majority of your role from home.
