Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire our client is seeking an ESG Reporting Manager to join their busy team on a permanent, hybrid working basis. Some business travel is likely to be required.

This job would suit someone with strong knowledge and experience of ESG frameworks to be responsible for overseeing the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting activities within the business. They will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting of ESG data and performance metrics, as well as guiding the business's developing ESG strategy and compliance with the relevant frameworks and regulations and knowledge of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

The successful individual will have strong knowledge and experience of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements. They will have proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Excel, sustainability management software, and ESG data platforms. This candidate will need good understanding of financial analysis, materiality assessments, and integration of ESG factors into investment decisions. Excellent project management skills are a must to handle multiple reporting initiatives, meet deadlines, and ensure data accuracy and integrity. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role to be able to successfully market the business's continuing work in support of the transition from a carbon based economy.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement ESG reporting frameworks and methodologies, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, TNFD and local reporting requirements.
  • Identify future legislation and regulation, develop strategies for ensuring the business adheres to new requirements.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret ESG data, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to generate comprehensive reports, presentations, and disclosures for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to define and implement the organization's ESG strategy, goals, and targets aligned with industry best practices and stakeholder expectations.
  • Engage with internal departments, investors, analysts, and ESG rating agencies to communicate the organisation's ESG performance, respond to inquiries, and address concerns.
  • Stay abreast of emerging ESG trends, regulations, and reporting frameworks to continuously improve and evolve the organization's ESG reporting and disclosure practices.
  • Provide guidance and support in embedding ESG considerations into decision-making processes, risk assessments, and governance frameworks.
