Salary: £23,000 to £24,000 per annumLocation: Based at our office in Harlow, Essex 4 days a week, with 1 day a week attending either Anglia Ruskin University (Peterborough) or Kingston University.Do you have a passion for environmental sustainability and looking to start your career whilst studying? What you'll be doing:
  • Assist the Environmental and Project Lead with the implementation of the Environmental Sustainability Action Plan (ESAP), a 3-year plan that sets out the actions and targets that underpin the Motability Foundations approach to environmental sustainability. Lead on several actions within the ESAP.
  • Support the Environmental and Project Lead in maintaining and improving our Environmental Management System to the ISO14001 standard and implementing an Energy Management System to the ISO50001 standard.
  • Manage actions within the Carbon Reduction Management Plan to decrease the carbon footprint of the Motability Foundation.
  • Collect data to support the monitoring of various environmental KPIs and assist with the production of reports.
  • Assist the Environmental and Project Lead and Communications Department to develop and implement a communications strategy aimed at embedding sustainability into our culture and values as an organisation.
  • Assist the Environmental and Project Lead in maintaining the Environmental Legal Register, ensuring environmental legal compliance at the Motability Foundation.
About you:

Must haves:

  • Meet entry requirements of Environmental Practitioner BSc (Hons) degree apprenticeship at chosen university. Kingston University London requirements found at Environmental Science BSc (Hons). Anglia Ruskin University Requirements found at Environmental Practitioner - ARU.
  • A genuine interest and understanding of environmental and sustainability issues.
  • Good Microsoft Office suite skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with peers, colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Drive to perform well and continuously improve.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience (voluntary or paid) in environmental or charity sector.
