H9 Technical Recruitment are hiring for an Environmental, Planning & Permitting Consultant to support our clients work in the low carbon and renewable energy sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with engineers and commercial developers to develop sustainable projects in the waste, biomass, and renewables sectors working with developers, commercial teams putting together proposal for different types of power plants and energy projects. The role is fully remote with travel to sites when needed

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the project managers and senior engineers in the business
  • Focussed on delivering expert support to all aspects of a project for our business and to external clients.
  • Provision of technical and project support to clients in support of project activities
  • Participate in feasibility studies, technical assessments, and economic analyses
  • Assist in the review and preparation of Environmental Permits, Planning Applications and other technical studies
  • Assist in the Due Diligence process for Energy and Waste projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including discipline engineers, project managers, and technicians
  • Support project activities, including site visits, data analysis, and preparation of technical reports and proposals
  • Stay up to date with developments in the sector and any changes in legislation
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as utilities, regulatory bodies, and technology suppliers, to facilitate successful project execution and maintain industry relationships

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, geology, engineering, renewable energy, or a related field
  • Knowledge of the waste and biomass industries
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and practical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to waste treatment and energy generation systems
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, such as Energy from Waste, CCUS, and energy storage & generation systems
