A new and exciting opportunity for an experienced ESG Manager has arisen for our client, a leading and global supplier of Ingredients and Premix Manufacturing solutions. Based in London, this is a hybrid role. This is a new role created to support and lead the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at reducing our clients footprint and promoting green practices within the business. Whilst the role will focus on the environmental pillar of their sustainability efforts, the successful candidate will be included in social and governance work as well to support a rounded strategy for the group. The Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaborative with Senior Leaders, Management team and key personnel to support the creation of the year 1 to year 5 rolling environmental strategy for both ingredients and solutions business in the EMEA/APAC region.
  • Monitor and report on environmental sustainability performance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Advise the business on significant challenges or developments identified in relation to sustainability topics. This will include review of relevant EMEA/APAC legislation and horizon scanning.
  • Lead dual materiality risk assessment for environmental impact assessment works.
  • Lead their scope 1,2 and 3 emission reporting for and coordinating with teams on the ground and external consultants as appropriate.
  • Perform gap analysis against various reporting initiatives to propose short, medium and long term improvement plans.
  • Identify opportunities to promote sustainability within the supply chain and across operations
  • Evaluate the financial impact of sustainability initiatives and report on the return on investment (ROI) of sustainability programs
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on our sustainability journey, efforts and targets. This includes the completion of customer queries, questionnaires and supporting the Sales team for bids requiring input from the sustainability team
  • Collaborate with other entities on sustainability projects
  • Develop Training platform for current and new employees to ensure latest knowledge sharing and engagement

The successful candidate must have a Degree or other relevant qualification in an environmental sciences, sustainability or business related discipline. Experience in a mix of environment management and sustainability. Project management experience and experience within the Food and Feed industry is preferred. Proven ability to lead, implement and deliver sustainability commitments on time and within budget and work in a high profile, commercial environment.
