We are seeking an English Teacher to join our ‘outstanding’ secondary school in Slough. This is a permanent role starting in September, ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about teaching English and fostering a love for literature and language in students.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English lessons that engage and challenge students across a range of abilities.
  • Mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils’ progress and development.
  • Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour.
  • Undertake pastoral duties, such as supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties.
  • Prepare pupils for qualifications and external examinations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings and whole school training events.
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching English at secondary level, including A-levels.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Passion for English literature and language.
