Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum

 
GSL Education are looking to appointa Qualified English Teacher to work with clients schools in South Shields, starting immediately. As an English Teacher, you will be teaching GCSE pupils a mixture of English Language and English Literature. Responsibilities – Teacher of English: 

• Plan and deliver engaging English Literature and Language lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• To put into practice and present a curriculum that is suitably wide, balanced, pertinent, and differentiated for students and to support a specific curriculum area as necessary.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, and students, and uphold positive relationships with all of them.
• Manage high levels of student attainment through strong leadership and supervision.
• To continue personal development in the relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methods.

Requirements – Teacher of English: 

• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and specialise in teaching English Language and Literature to GCSE standard.
• Have at least 6 months of prior teaching experience which can be referenced from within the last 2 years (placements can be referenced for NQTs or ECTs).
• Be a motivational and innovative teacher, able to engage students of all abilities.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be open to completing additional training if required.
• Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS, registered on the update service, or be willing to obtain one.
