English Teacher - Tameside

A dedicated and passionate English Teacher is required to work at a popular secondary school in Tameside, to join them on a full-time basis, teaching key stage 3 & 4 ASAP, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.

This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced Tameside teachers.

You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. This school teaches with a key focus on an investigative approach that compliments their well research pedagogy. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way. Should have a understand of KS3 and KS4, with an understanding of the cross curriculum benefits of teaching English.

Pupils are proud and happy to attend School and value the positive relationships that they have with their teachers. Pupils relish the opportunities that promote their wider development. For instance, many pupils complete the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme. Older pupils enjoy their roles as ambassadors for sports and anti-bullying. Pupils lead activities which serve their community. For example, they fundraise for the homeless and host dinners for the elderly. This helps pupils to develop their independence as well as their communication skills and empathy for others.

Minimum rate of pay - from £153.85 per day.

Hours - 8:30am - 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree educated with a good classification

Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc)

Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)

Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)

Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)

Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £45.80.

Provide a minimum of two professional references.
