Job Title: Part-time English Teacher (0.4 FTE) - Temporary

Start Date: September 2024

Pay Rate: Main Pay Scale (MPS) / Upper Pay Scale (UPS) in accordance with experience and qualifications.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an ambitious English Teacher to join a dedicated and innovative community of educators. This role presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to teaching and learning across the school and to support students in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate confidence in knowledge of the English Subject Review and recent developments in English teaching and learning.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current issues and developments in English education.
  • Deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature.
  • Collaborate effectively with the English team and wider faculty.
  • Utilize formative assessment data to inform teaching and learning strategies.
  • Promote a growth mindset and metacognitive approaches to learning.
  • Adapt teaching methods to a blended curriculum and be flexible in approach.
  • Support student enrichment opportunities and promote a reading culture.
  • Reflect on student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Innovate teaching strategies to ensure progress for all students.
  • Champion the use of student ICT to enhance learning.
  • Demonstrate initiative and creativity in teaching practices.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
