We are working with a coeducational school in the Southampton area seeking a full and part-time English teacher to join their academy. For the right individual, this could become a permanent placement. Whether you are new to teaching or are highly qualified, this exciting opportunity is open to all candidates with ECT will be considered.
Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and passionate English teacher to join our nurturing team in Southampton. As an English teacher, you will play a pivotal role in creating a supportive learning environment for our students. Your dedication to teaching, patience, and effective communication skills will contribute to their academic success.
Responsibilities:

  • Organise Classroom Lectures and Coursework:
    • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum.
    • Foster a love for reading, writing, and speaking in English.



  • Assess Student Progress:
    • Evaluate homework assignments, exam grades, and overall performance.
    • Provide constructive feedback to help students improve.



  • Individualised Support:
    • Identify students with special requirements and create personalised learning plans.
    • Collaborate with teaching staff to address individual needs.



  • Attendance and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades.
    • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress.



  • Classroom Management:
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies.
    • Handle crises and resolve conflicts as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous Experience:
    • Proven experience as an English teacher.
    • Familiarity with various teaching methods.



  • Qualifications:
    • BSc/BA in English Language or English Literature (MSc is a plus).
    • Deep understanding of the national curriculum and English language requirements.



  • Personal Attributes:
    • Exceptional organisational skills.
    • Resilient and patient personality.
    • Dedication to students and education.
