English graduate - Stockport

We are working exclusively with a large grammar school in Stockport, who are looking for a recent English graduate, to work in the English department as a tutor and teaching assistant. The role will start in June, it will be part time and will be until Friday 5th July.

You will be responsible for supporting pupils within the English department in key stage 3 & 4, you will also have a small timetable (these are called intervention groups) where you will provide intensive support to small groups of learners. You will formulate a superb understanding of the curriculum at KS3 English. You will be supported by outstanding teachers and a strong, highly recognised leadership team. You will help the English Department focus on teaching KS3 on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree educated with a good classification, in English (2:2)
  • High grade in English & Maths at GCSE level
  • A level in English Literature or Language
  • Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) desirable but not essential
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, online training can be provided)
  • Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, online training can be provided).
  • Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £45.80.
  • Provide a minimum of two professional references covering at least the last two years.
  • Provide a history from your education in Secondary School to the present day, with a full employment history.
