Central Employment is working with a fantastic new client specialising in the engineering sector that needs three Engineering Schedulers to join their Manchester site within Oldham.

Overview of role: 

We are currently partnering with a dynamic client in the engineering sector who is seeking a Patch Scheduler to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the efficient planning and organisation of engineering maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a patch of Engineers within specified post-coded areas.
  • Plan and organize daily diary with Maintenance/Reactive/Extra Works calls.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual maintenance dates to avoid uncompliant visits.
  • Revise maintenance schedules to minimize repeat visits to the same site within a 2-month rolling period.
  • Allocate planned maintenance calls to the correct engineers based on skillset and geographical location.
  • Develop strong geographical knowledge of the designated patch and understand logistics, traffic management, and route planning.
  • Confirm and agree on engineer appointments with site personnel.
  • Liaise with the service administration team to ensure accurate and timely appointment letters.
  • Continuously update systems with accurate contact information and booking procedures.
  • Schedule all jobs for a site, including outstanding works, on the same day for efficient planning.
  • Optimize job allocation to minimize travel time between jobs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in scheduling and planning is essential.
  • Ability to handle calls from the engineering team and internal staff regarding appointments and job updates.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced reactive environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with engineers and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient geographical knowledge.
