The core responsibilities of this role will be the effective management of six mechanical engineers and three electrical engineers who between them, work a three shift system over a continuous seven day cycle. Normal hours of work for the engineering manager will be dayshift, although flexibility in covering shift patterns may be required on occasions.

The Role
The role of engineering manager requires proven experience in leadership and strong people management of engineers.

• The ability to work safely within time deadlines in a fast paced production environment, with a solid grounding in industrial engineering desirable.
• Building a high performing engineering department who are individually and collectively responsible for contributing to agreed standards of performance and targets.
• Providing guidance, training and mentoring to all engineers.
• Creating a way of working that revolves around knowledge sharing and collaboration with key sawmill operators, as well as fellow engineers.

The person

• Recognised Mechanical qualifications/apprenticeship or time served.
• Experience in a production/process environment e.g. FMCG,Industrial, Agricultural
• Capable of following H&S policies and procedures
