Engineering Geologist

Engineering Geologist - required for a Specialists in Site Investigation contractor in Gloucester. The company the Engineering Geologist will be working for specialise within ground investigations working across a range of sectors. The role of Engineering Geologist will be field based working all across the UK.

Engineering Geologist Position Remuneration

• Basic Salary up to £40,000
• 20 days holiday per year plus BH and Christmas shutdown
• Generous overtime rate with double- and triple-time opportunities including nightshift and weekend works and the flexibility to convert overtime into additional annual leave

Engineering Geologist Position Requirements

• Educated to a degree level in Geology, a related Earth Science or Civil / Geotechnical Engineering
• Previous experience in site investigations or exploration Geology
• UK Driving Licence
• Live or happy to relocate to Gloucester
• Happy with UK wide travel and nights away
• Core Hours of work 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday plus overtime
• 90% of time spent on various ground investigation sites across the UK

Engineering Geologist Position Requirements

• Work on brownfield and greenfield sites, contaminated land, roads, railways and airports, utility sites
• Variation of large long-term projects and small short-term projects both locally and nationally
• Working alongside Industry Specialists.
• In-field project management and supervision of, but not limited to, drilling rigs with dynamic sampling, rotary coring and slope climbing capabilities, trial pitting with excavators and hand pitting crews and third-party drilling crews and groundworkers
• Logging of soils and rocks to BS 5930, geotechnical and geoenvironmental sampling, ground gas and water monitoring and sampling, recording of buried structures, GPS surveying, permeability and various in-situ testing
