Role: Energy Trading Analyst (Graduate)

Location: Leeds x 3 days per week/ x2 days from home

Salary: £30k-35k DOE + excellent benefits package

Summary:

We are working with an industry leading Energy consultancy who are looking to grow their Trading and Analytics team with a Graduate Energy Trading Analyst. You’ll be working with some of the largest energy users in the UK to help them secure the best prices for their energy usage with short and long-term forecasting and trading. You should have 1 years’ experience of working in a trading / forecasting environment with complex spreadsheet modelling skills, and have a willingness to take on further responsibility and build a career in the UK Energy industry. Key Responsibilities:

  • Short and long term forecasting and trading
  • Build/test complex spreadsheet models with a solid understanding of consumption patterns
  • Pricing, market and fundamentals monitoring
  • Accurate and regular reporting on market/trends/price fluctuations/HH imbalance position
  • Conduct real-time analysis of the UK power market
  • Collaborate with Head of Trading & Risk to deliver improvements to in-house forecasting
  • Contribute to the continuous development of trading dashboards and tools
  • Support in the production of market intelligence reporting

Skills & Experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, Economics, Data Science or a similar field
  • Passion for the energy industry, trading or asset optimisation
  • Motivated to become an expert in the power market including electricity pricing, hedging, and risk management strategies
  • Excellent data and statistical analysis tools
  • Flexibility with your working hours
