Job Description: Energy BMS Controls Manager - PFI Education (North)

Location: The position is a hybrid role that will require remote working and site-based works as appropriate to support our customers property estates.

Following significant growth in contracts, Energy are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Energy and Controls Manager to join our established and successful team of professionals. The Energy and Controls Manager will have a key role in the delivery of the energy performance objectives across a customer's estate and report into the Energy Operations Manager - PFI.

Working closely with their colleagues in the Energy Team and Site FM's, the Energy and Controls Manager will be responsible for developing bespoke BEMS solutions for each site in the portfolio and assisting to support the local team's energy efficiency efforts. This role is focused on ensuring that the building and energy management system (BEMS) on each site delivers the required environmental conditions in the most energy conscious way possible.

How you will make Plan Zero happen…

You will look to create and implement energy optimisation strategies for our customers and develop and deliver a pipeline of energy saving opportunities through low/no cost targeted optimisations, capital projects and smart building technology.

Understand the application of building services assets and how the building management system interacts with the major energy using equipment to identify opportunities to reduce energy and carbon use.

Understand and interrogate utility data (half hourly, submetering, etc) and operational data (Building Management Systems) to understand how energy is being used in order to ensure that BEMS remote communications, networking and alarms are functioning in a reliable and effective manner.

To assist in the specification and procurement of building energy management systems through surveying and site reporting.

To programme and commission energy management systems or work with sub-contractors to ensure maximum energy saving benefits from such systems are achieved in accordance with contractual requirements.

Do you have what it takes?

We are looking for an talented individual with experience in BEMS programming and the use of the Trend System Engineering Tools (SET). Other BEMS experience, such as Tridium, Siemens and Cylon, is desirable.

Experience in setting up and operation of IQVision \ Tridium N4. Production of PX pages and running programme points using BQL.

Experience in setting up and maintaining Trend IQ networks and remote communications. Have a sound knowledge of Trend IQ 2,3 and 4 programming and commissioning.

Excellent understanding of building mechanical & electrical building services including HVAC and lighting control systems.

Experience in working on control panels, relays, breakers, transformers, contactors etc.

Strong knowledge of BEMS communications protocol such as BACnet and Modbus.
