Role: Energy and Sustainability Manager (Maternity cover)
Location: Hybrid - Dartford (3 days in the office and 2 from home)
Salary: up to £45k DOE

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Energy and Sustainability Manager. As the Energy and Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the company's sustainability strategy. This includes all aspects of energy and environmental management within the estate. You will be overseeing the environmental performance of the organisation and maintaining the ISO 14001 environmental management system. Key responsibilities:

• Managing, monitoring and reporting on energy and water usage and costs
• Ensuring energy monitoring data is collected regularly and accurate records are maintained using manual readings and Automatic Meter Reading platforms.
• Conducting analysis to identify where energy consumption can be reduced.
• Preparing and implementing new energy saving and control initiatives and measuring the performance of initiatives to ensure effectiveness.
• Identifying and developing business cases for measures to reduce energy and carbon impacts
• Benchmarking energy consumption against best practice guidelines and other leisure sites;
• Providing support to the operational teams to manage and reduce energy use at each centre
• Carrying out internal site energy and EHS audits
• Ensuring compliance with ESOS (Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme) and SECR (Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting) requirements
• Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001:2015 and overseeing external certification audits
• Meeting with clients to update on environmental performance
• Keeping up to date with environmental legislation and ensuring compliance with, in particular Waste Transfer Notes, Trade Effluent Consents, Display Energy Certificates, TM44

Skills, qualifications and experience required:

• Experience of working in a comparable or similar role
• Educated to degree level, preferably in a subject relevant to the role.
• IEMA membership, Member of IOSH - desirable
• Considerable Sustainability/ESG/GHG/Net Zero knowledge
• Extensive experience and understanding of the fundamental role sustainability plays in how we operate our business and the benefits it can bring to our partners
• Knowledge of compliance with ISO14001
• Knowledgeable and communicative regarding all aspects of energy and water management and technology, sustainability, health & safety with the ability to educate and train others
