Joining a long established local firm you will be an integral part of the department.

You will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and representation to clients on a wide range of employment law matters.

You will work closely with the Corporate & Commercial team to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and resolve employment-related disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on all aspects of employment law, including but not limited to employment contracts, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, and employee benefits.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide proactive advice to clients.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings before government agencies and in litigation matters related to employment disputes.
  • Collaborate with HR professionals and management teams to develop and implement employment policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation and arbitration, to resolve employment disputes efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and organised legal files and documentation related to employment matters.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and legal developments related to employment law through continuing education and professional development activities.

Qualifications and Skills needed:

  • 3 PQE
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents
