About the team: The firm boasts one of the largest and most prestigious Employment Pensions and Immigration Teams in Leeds. The team is renowned for its expertise across various sectors, including insurance, health, and corporate clients, with a range of clients that includes numerous household names. Joining this team means becoming part of a diverse and talented group of over 30 professionals dedicated to delivering top-tier legal services.

Job Overview: As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to undertake a diverse range of employment law matters, providing counsel to employers across various sectors, including major corporates, retail, hospitality, central government, insurance, and health. Your responsibilities will encompass both contentious and non-contentious matters, including advising on disciplinary issues, grievance procedures, collective redundancy programs, industrial action, transfers of employees, and sensitive hires and exits. 

Experience: 
  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent preferred, with a minimum of 3 years' experience handling employment law matters for employers.
  • Proven track record in managing tribunal claims from inception to resolution.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both contentious and non-contentious aspects of employment law, including policy advice, contract drafting, settlement negotiations, and proficiency in redundancy, TUPE, and organizational restructuring matters.
  • Previous involvement with large multi-site employers and advisory experience in the insurance, retail, and health sectors would be beneficial.
  • Strong academic background, coupled with experience in respondent-focused legal practice.
  • Innovative thinker adept at delivering practical and commercially viable solutions for clients, with a keen awareness of industry trends.
  • Effective communicator capable of fostering client trust and maintaining enduring relationships.
  • Collaborative team player with a flexible mindset and a commitment to setting a positive example. Supervisory experience is desirable.
