Reed Engineering are currently working with a leading manufacturer of Broadcast equipment. A rapidly growing company with over 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing innovative products for the Television, Film, and A/V Industries. They are seeking candidates with hands-on production/manufacturing experience to join their expanding team as an Assembly Technician. You will play a crucial role in assembling electrical parts and sub-assemblies for our Broadcast Radio Camera Systems and Antennas.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Assemble and test all outgoing products, ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain Quality Audit procedures for equipment assembly and take responsibility for final testing.
  • Adhere to defined quality systems and procedures.
  • Manufacture antennas and conduct testing.
  • Report any errors in design documentation and contribute to improving work instructions.
  • Identify potential improvements and provide feedback to the Engineering team.
  • Manage and report stock levels to the Line Manager.
  • Provide customer support and handle in-house repairs.
  • Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Practice clear workplace health and safety standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in electronics, including basic soldering skills.
  • Proficiency in assembling cable and wire looms.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment and drawings.
  • Familiarity with BOM structures to identify components.
  • Ability to follow assembly and test procedures.
  • Experience using test and assembly equipment.
  • Circuit design and fault diagnosis at component level skills.
  • GCSE Maths and English – Grade C or above.
  • Electronics qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Background knowledge in Broadcast TV is beneficial.

Additional Information:

  • Job type: Permanent, full time
  • £25,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Contracted Job Hours: 8:00-17:00 Mon-Thurs & 9:30-16:00 Fri
  • 24 days holiday and bank holidays included.
  • Reporting to: Operations Manager / Line Manager
