Electronics Assembly Technician (Optoelectronics)

Our client is looking for an Electronics Assembly Technician

Job description

Our company is involved in the design and manufacturing of thermal imaging equipment.

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an Electronics Assembly Technician to join our busy Production team.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with other members of the multi-functional Production team and undertake work on a variety of products with the common goal of delivering high-quality products.

This position may be attractive to an individual with a technical mind and attention to detail.

While previous experience in this area would be advantageous, applications are also invited from candidates without previous experience in optoelectronics, but who welcome a technical challenge.

Full training will be provided for this role.

Our hiring process includes 2 stages that are completed on different dates.  Only successful candidates at Stage 1 will be invited to Stage 2.

  1. Initial in-person interview.
  2. Practical assessment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to, a mix of assembly, calibration, repair, and product testing by company specifications to achieve monthly production output targets.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent dexterity and ability to work on precision assemblies.
  • Good hand and eye coordination is required during all assembly, testing, and diagnostics tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Computer literate

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Any qualification in electronics would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in electronics repair or small parts assembly is desirable.

  • The candidate will be quality-focused, punctual, willing to learn, and conscientious.
  • Attention to detail and a systematic approach to the work required.
  • Ability to work on their own initiative but also as part of a dynamic team.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £12.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week.  Working pattern: 40 hours/week; Monday - Friday, 7-8 a.m. to 3-4 p.m.
