Electro Mechanical Engineer

Our client is looking for an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer required to work in the High Vacuum and Semi-Conductor industry, designing control systems and in house test equipment for high temperature furnaces and Vapour Deposition Systems. This job involves not only design, but also includes project management, building, testing and on-site installation (mainly in Europe, but also North America and Asia).

The candidate should ideally have a degree or have a minimum qualification at HNC level in Electronics/Engineering with experience in engineering design for system control, wiring harnesses, electronics, and PLC programming. An element of mechanical design is preferable using solid modelling software (Solid works) as this is to be a mixed role where required. They operate in a very niche area and so training will be given, but experience of working within the vacuum industry would be a great advantage.

They require a person with a creative problem-solving mind, that can work hard and work well under pressure, that can also prioritize and manage a project from design to installation. A problem solver that can work well on their own but also as part of a team, keep cool under pressure, and keep on smiling.

Our client’s ideal candidate would be experienced in system and controller design combining different aspects of systems and different technologies. They would also have good engineering hand skills, able to assemble, test, fault find, develop, and modify their designs to attain the required operating performance. They will have new skills, ideas, and knowledge that they can bring in to complement their existing team of engineers and how improve and grow their product range.

They would also need a driving licence and be happy to drive (and fly) to customers all over Europe, and fly out to North America and Asia when required for installations.

The job involves working within a growing engineering team with a focus on developing the design of their Laboratory furnace systems and managing the PLC control and programming. Daily work will include maintaining BOM's for controllers, producing wiring diagrams for production, hands on wiring and development of systems, Research and Development for furnace system design, and PLC programming for both system control and user interface.

The ability to handle mechanical design is highly beneficial to all the candidates, to learn and develop their products from both sides of electric and mechanical and support the engineering team in design work where required.

Requirements:

  • £30,000.00 - £45,000.00 pa salary + bonuses
