Electrician

Location: Boston and Spalding area

Salary: £36,648 - £40,221 per annum

Our client is a Multi-Academy Trust of nine schools, each based in the heart of their communities in the Boston and Spalding areas. The Role

Working across all of their sites, the Electrician will be responsible for providing a trust wide service to all of the academies, specifically electrical installation work, repairs and testing.

They will also assist in implementing a program utilising condition surveys and in line with the Estates Vision and Plan and health and safety standards.

Key Duties:

  • To ensure all works are carried out in line with recognized HSE regulations/ACOPs/guidance notes.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements in relation to systems/equipment/plant.
  • Liaise with Site Managers to ensure work is carried out to a high standard in a timely manner.
  • Ensure relevant documentation is obtained from contractors – Risk Assessments, DBS details, insurance certs and training records etc.
  • Initiate specifications and orders for repairs/improvements and undertake relevant works.
  • Undertake risk assessments and method statements for all works carried out.

Administration/Resources:

  • Monitor and manage stock within an agreed budget, cataloguing resources and undertaking audits as required. 
  • Maintain an inventory of all machinery, equipment and /materials.
  • Carry out complex administrative tasks e.g. maintaining records, information, and data, producing reports as required.
  • Operate relevant equipment/ICT packages (e.g. MS Office, internet, intranet, E-mail, photography equipment) and compliance systems.
  • Maintenance of specialist equipment, check for quality/safety, undertake specialist repairs/modifications within own capabilities and arrange for other repairs/modifications to be carried out by others. This will include intruder alarm, fire alarm, heating systems, BMS and any other systems associated with the running of the buildings.
  • Ensure work van is checked in-line with procedures and that periodic servicing occurs. 
  • Ensure work van is kept tidy and in good working order, report any issues to line manager.
  • Control and manage devolved budget in line with financial procedures.
  • Maintain tidy and organized workspaces and storage areas.
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance as required.
  • Carry out additional duties in the absence of Health, Safety and Facilities Manager to ensure trust wide compliance to statutory requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
